I've reached out to over a thousand VCs so far this year and here's what I've learned. Generally, the reaction's been very poor but in there lie big successes and that's what we've got to aim for.
So lesson one. Clear, exciting, concise email copy. Success lies in crafting emails that are light, easy to read but a brimming with excitement.
Two detail heavy d**** make a massive difference. Don't design your, Investment strategy around lazy analysts. Serious investors want serious information.
They've got a lot of criteria that they need to hit. And if you don't hit that criteria in your pitch d***, they just can't take the conversation forward.
So don't give yourself a disadvantage. Lesson three, there's no hacks, just hard work. There's 600 seed VCs in the UK in Europe.
How are you going to talk to them all? How are you going to reach out to them all? That's hard work.
And for the power of time and dedication, luck pays a massive, massive part in fundraising and to increase your chances of getting lucky, you have to be more active.
Right time, right place, right person, right moment, use that to your advantage.
